From out the earth into the sky
there stands a fire that was described
as many things in broken shapes of what it was

So many times this prophecy
had come to pass the very same
way that it had can't send it back
from whence it came

Insofar
as a fallen star
passed the sun and moon
in a beam of blue
spread the open palms
catch a heavy god
Near a line of fools
lining up in twos
As the water burns
from an awful wind
in the final fat
of the offring

Upon the day in but a quarter
of the time it took for Noah
to decide to sober up against the night

After the flood wholly inundated
the earth every animal it seemed
had disappeared as in a dream

Insofar
as the only eye
all the way back when
post-diluvian
in millenia
of the fallen star
was the only eye
saw the holy fire
that inspired Hell
when the continent
like a turtle shell
chose to rise again

Adam and
his daughter eve
will walk us through
calamity

have walked with us
